How to register

Register a .Best domainin four steps.

Check the name, pick an accredited registrar, choose a term, and connect it to your site.

    1. 1

      Check the name.

Type the name in the search on the homepage, or look it up in the WHOIS / RDAP tool to see whether it is already registered. Short single words may be premium names, sold by the registry itself.

    2. 2

      Pick an accredited registrar.

.Best domains are sold through more than 300 accredited registrars worldwide. Choose one from the registrar directory: each sets its own prices, so compare the first-year price and the renewal price before you buy.

    3. 3

Choose how long to register it.

A .Best name can be registered for one to ten years at a time, and renewed before it expires. A longer term keeps the name yours without yearly renewals.

    4. 4

      Put it to work.

Point the domain to your website from your registrar's DNS settings, or connect it to the website builder or host you already use. The registry supports DNSSEC, which your registrar can turn on to protect the name's DNS answers.

    Which names can be registered

    • Letters a–z, digits 0–9 and hyphens; capitals make no difference.
    • Up to 63 characters before .best.
    • No hyphen at the start or the end, and no two hyphens in a row (except in internationalized names, which start with xn--).
    • Internationalized names in the scripts the registry offers, as listed by IANA.

The full rules are in the registry policies.

    Looking for a one-word name?

Single-word names such as hotel.best or tech.best are premium names, sold or rented by the registry rather than through registrars.

    Questions

    Before you register.

How much does a .Best domain cost?
Each registrar sets its own price. TLD-List reports first-year prices from about $1 at entry level; renewal prices can be higher, so compare both. Premium names are priced individually by the registry.
How long can I register a .Best domain for?
For one to ten years at a time, renewable before it expires.
Can I buy a .Best domain directly from the registry?
Standard names are registered through accredited registrars. Premium names are sold or rented by the registry: make an offer on the premium domains page.
Does a .Best domain rank as well as a .com in Google?
Yes, it starts on equal footing: Google treats new generic top-level domains such as .best like .com, and says keywords in a top-level domain give no advantage or disadvantage in search.
